Whilst working at 'Help the Aged', (now Age UK). The Charity's Events department organised a Desert Trek in Egypt. Francoise eagerly jumped at the chance to be part of this trek as she had visited Egypt previously and had loved the country.
She had seen the Nile and the Pyramids but had never visited the desert. An experience never to be forgotten. Sleeping under the stars, trekking fifteen miles a day for five days, and a few injuries.
Sadly one of our team members died peacefully in 2010- RIP Peter Algar, who mentored me whilst I was writing my book.
It was all worth it and she raised £3,000 from personal sponsorship.
